Race Retro 2020 Postcard

We attended the Reis Race Retro event last weekend and what a fantastic day it was! From the moment we arrived we were completely engrossed in all thing’s car. For those of our readers who enjoy motor sport and especially historic motor this event is certainly for you, the event always exceeds our expectations.

What we really like about Race Retro is how laid back it is, it has a good mix of race cars as well as classic show cars. If car racing isn’t your thing, it also has plenty of traders selling everything imaginable, from car parts and artwork to Costco memberships! Race Retro still has that auto jumble area too which really adds to the character and appeal for me as I always enjoy looking around this area for the odd treasure.

I started the event by walking through one of the exhibition halls and was instantly transported into the world of a car enthusiast. The event included exhibitions from the likes of Prescott, Ferrari Club Racing, 750 Motor Club and Classics Sports Car Club. Its incredible to have so many like minded individuals at the same place.

The event included interviews with some very notable motor sport influencers like Tony Southgate and Mark Priestley, past and current drivers and riders, like Rosemary Smith, John Fitzpatrick and Chris Ingram, but the event was just about the right size to make you feel close to the participants.

As much as we had a fantastic time at the event, we are disappointed that we walked away without investing in a piece of motorsport history at the Silverstone Auction. The sale offered the finest classic cars, modern supercars, all types of competition cars, modern and historic motorcycles and automobilia.

Make sure you put it in your diary for next year, this really is an unmissable event!
